The Brockhole Visitor Centre ( Childrens Activities )

The Brockhole Visitor Centre - Located between Windermere and Ambleside off the A591, is one of the most popular attractions for people of all ages. The centre has a lot on offer especially outdoors, children can play in the famous adventure playground or you can take a walk through the gardens down to the lakeshore.

 

The Brockhole Visitor Centre has 30 acres of ground to explore, including woodland and meadow. There are also a number of outdoor activities for children of all ages, Looking at Little Legs in the Lake District is a tour for children under 7, which lets them explore the grounds and learn about the wildlife of the Lake District. The Letter Search Trail for children 7 and over lets them have fun looking for letters hidden in the grounds while learning about the Lake District and the work of the National Park Authority. Those are a couple of the wide range of activities on offer at the Centre. There are also two floors of fun interactive exhibits, which teach the children about the Lake District in a fun and interesting way.

 

The Brockhole Visitor Centre also has an excellent café located within the grounds, serving a wide range of delicious home baking made from traditional Cumbrian recipes. The café has an outdoor terrace for those who wish to dine outside admiring the beauty of the gardens.

 

The Centre also affords everyone the opportunity to enjoy the centre and the grounds, with a variety of equipment to help people who might need assistance. The Centre offers free use of electric wheelchairs for use in the gardens, free use of wheelchairs to use indoors and induction loops in the theatre for hearing impaired visitors.
