Long Meg and Her Daughters situated near Penrith.
A large stone circle locally known as a petrified women with her daughters and is one of the biggest in England, Meg stands at twelve foot high and has some prehistoric engravings such as concentric circles, a cup and ring, and spiral.
If you stand in the centre of the circle in winter you may notice the sun sets directly over Long Meg. Close to Meg the perimeter of the circle turns outward acting as a kind of porch and around half a mile away you will find Little Meg a smaller circle enclosing a burial site.
