Bassenthwaite Lake – This is the largest lake in Cumbria Lake District and is the only true lake, with the others being meres or waters.
Bassenthwaite Lake is home to a number of species of wildlife and is a Site of Special Scientific Interest. One of the lake’s top attractions is the Ospreys who have recently nested and successfully reared their first chick in 150 years.
There are also camping facilities available at the lake as well as a number of water sports and activities.
