This beautiful small church, tucked away beside the bridge over the river Derwent, is largely Norman, the chancel arch, narrow windows and possibly the roof timbers dating from 1130.

Medieval dials have been cut beside the chancel windows; with the aid of a pin located in the central hole, these used the sun to indicate the times for canonical prayers.
