Beatrix Potter ( Famous People )

Beatrix Potter – Beatrix Potter was born on the 28th of July 1866 in South Kensington, London. As a child she lived a lonely life being educated by a governess at home and having hardly any contact with other people.

She had many pets, which she studied and made drawings of throughout her childhood.

Beatrix Potter fell in love with the beauty of the Lake District when her parents rented the Wray Castle near Ambleside and spent many summer holidays in the Lake District.

She spent most of her life living in the Lake District, which inspired her to write her books, most notably The Tale of Peter Rabbit, as well as paintings and sketches of the Lake District landscape. When she died in 1943, she left 14 farms and 4000 acres of land to the National Trust.
