Grizedale Forest Park ( Forestry )

Grizedale Forest Park - Grizedale Forest Park is located between Lake Coniston and Lake Windermere, and is one of the most popular attractions of the Lake District amongst tourists.

The Forestry Commission oversees the area and offers a wide range of recreational activities for people of all ages. The forest and the Grizedale Forest Visitor Centre were opened to the public in 1960’s, and today is the largest forest within the Lake District. The visitor’s centre and the gallery show the history story of the forest from the wild woodland to the nature preserve it is today.

The park offers a number of attractions including marked walking trails, cycling routes and sculptures in the woodland setting. A theatre is also located in the forest and offers a wide range of events including dance, classical, jazz, drama, variety and folk concerts. The gallery contains art, sculpture and craft exhibitions and a paint studio.
