Tarn Hows – This is one of the most popular places in the Lake District, and is located between Hawkshead and Clappersgate off the B5286.
Landscape architects in the middle of the 19th Century created Tarn Hows. The Tarn is surrounded by high fells, which add to its beauty.
There’s a walking path around the Tarn, which joins up with a number of paths that let you explore the woodlands and low level fells.
