Hadrian’s Wall – This is the most important monument in Britain that was by the Romans.
The wall runs for 73 miles from Wallsend near Newcastle to Bowness-on-Solway in Worth West Cumbria.
Hadrian’s Wall was built in the 120s AD, and because it was not impenetrable forts were built at 7-mile intervals.
One of the forts can be found at Birdoswald in Cumbria.
