Muncaster Castle – The castle is located in Muncaster, Ravenglass and has been home to the Pennington family for the past 800 years.

The castle is filled with a range of art and antiques and is a sight not to be missed when in Muncaster. The castle’s elegant dining room, Great Hall and octagonal library portray its impressive history.

At first it was a Pele Tower that was built to keep out the marauding Scots and was later transformed into the castle that stands there today.

It is said that the castle is haunted by ghosts including the famous Tom Fool. Muncaster Castle should be on every visitor’s list of places to visit.
