The Lake District National Park was founded in 1906 when 304 hectares on Ullswater were set aside as a National Park. The National Park now covers 2,240 square kilometres of the region, and has become a very popular tourist destination with people from all over the world. The national park is home to a number of different species of fauna and flora, and there are hiking trails throughout the park that take you through some amazing scenery.

The Lake District England is world renown for its outdoor activities, including climbing, cycling, hiking, mountain biking, walking and water sports. Ambleside is the outdoor centre of the county with a large number of outdoor shops and lakes. These outdoor activities are one of the main reasons for the Lake District’s successful tourism industry. In addition to all the activities on offer there are also a number of centres located throughout, which provide teaching and guidance for all activities.

Traveling around the Lake District is very easy, with a number of services on offer including buses, taxis and even steamers on the lakes. The best way to travel and explore the beautiful scenery of the Lake District, if you have the energy, is by bicycle. There are also a number of tours on offer that take you around the lakes, stopping at all the main attractions.

The Lake District has a lot to offer all tourists visiting the county, from peace and tranquility through to the more energetic outdoor activities. There is something on offer for everyone; the only problem that you’ll have is finding the time to fit everything in during your stay.
