Thirlmere – Thirlmere is mainly used as a reservoir and is almost 6 km long and 0.8 km wide.
The lake is located to the south of Keswick and has breathtaking views up to Helvellyn and Dollywagon Pike.
Thirlmere was originally two lakes until damning in 1879 caused the two lakes to overflow, forming Thirlmere.
