The Cumberland Pencil Museum located in Southey Hill Works, Keswick.

The manufacturing of pencils in Keswick came about from the mining of graphite in Borrowdale.

On offer is an excellent reconstruction of a portion of a mine and uses display units and video to show you the story of this industry from the start to the current day. You will also see the world’s largest pencil on display.
