Hangliding and Paragliding – Hangliding in the Lake District has been a popular activity since the 70s, and with the arrival of the paraglider the Lake District has become an even more popular destination for the free flying enthusiasts.

This is one of the best ways to take in the beauty of the Lake District soaring high above the most picturesque scenery, from the Skiddaw and hills surrounding Keswick to Coniston Old Man and Jenkin Hill.

A number if steep ridges and deep bowls provide booming thermals that get you climbing high above the ground on challenging cross country flights.

There are a large number of easy launching and landing areas, most of which are conveniently accessed by road.
