Wind Surfing – The coastline and the Lakes of the Lake District provide some of the best locations and conditions for wind surfing in all of England, which have made Cumbria one of the most popular destinations with wind surfers from all over the world.

The most popular wind surfing location in the Lake District is Coniston Water, which offers clear wind from the south and easy access via road. Derwent Water, Ullswater and Windermere are also popular wind surfing locations and offer good conditions as well as a variety of launching places.

For those looking for a spot a little less crowded Thirlmere is also a good wind surfing location, while Roa Island is very popular with the more experienced wind surfers looking to sail on the open sea.

Each of the locations has something to offer wind surfers of all levels of ability, from the novice to the more experienced. Winderemere, Coniston, Ullswater and Derwent Water also offer instruction and equipment hire.
