Appleby-in-Westmorland – This graceful village is located to the south east of Penrith on the north eastern edge of the Lake District.

Appleby is cut in half by the River Eden and has the Pennines as a backdrop.

The village has a few attractions including Appleby Castle dating back to the 11th century, the Appleby Church and the Appleby Horse Fair, which was first held in1685, held every year in June are a few of the most popular.
