Cockermouth – Cockermouth is famous for being the Birthplace of William Wordsworth and Fletcher Christian.
This Georgian town has a long history of being an important settlement in the area, having been granted a market charter back in 1221.
The village is located near the convergence of the Derwent and Cocker Rivers.
Cockermouth offers a number of attractions including the 12th century Cockermouth Castle; the Cockermouth All Saint’s Church; Wordsworth's house dating back to 1745; and the Cockermouth Music Festival.
