Egremont – Egremont is an old market town located on the western side of the Lake District near the nature reserve at St. Bees Head.

The village was granted a market charter in 1267 and since then the area has prospered.

Egremont has a number of attractions, an ancient Norman castle that dates back to 1130 is found just out of the village to the south and the St. Michael and St. Mary's church, which dates back to 1881 is an excellent example of Victorian archjitecture.

Most of the buildings in the village date back to the 18th and 19th centuries.
