Maryport – The town of Maryport is located to the north of Workington and was once a thriving port.

Maryport is situated near the ruined Roman fort of Alauna, with the oldest part of the town being the quay area.

The town has a number of aquariums and museums located all over, with the South Quay area having both an aquarium and a steamships museum displaying models and actual steamships from Maryport's past.

The Maryport Maritime Museum houses a number of exhibits depicting the town’s maritime history.
