Penrith – Penrith is located in the north eastern part of the Lake District and was the childhood home of William Wordsworth.
One of Penrith’s main attractions are the ruins of the Roman fort, Brocavum.
Other attractions include Penrith Castle, which was built in the 14th century; St. Andrew's Church, dating back to the 13th century; Robinson's School, dating back to 1670 and is now used as a museum; and the Police Museum in Carleton Hall.
Penrith is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the Lake District.
